I just completed a couple of additional features for the site I am building - DevelopmentKitchen: https://development.kitchen
The site is for software engineers looking for work, and companies looking to get software work done.
This is the fourth version since the launch of the first landing page about 2 months back. The pace of building the site and growing a user base hasn't been great (after becoming a new parent) but it has gotten a lot better.
The main problem I'm trying to address is the core problem with software recruitment: there's a lot of demand for software engineers (especially intermediate and senior engineers), and not enough supply of non-junior engineers. This makes recruitment the job of trying to convince people to switch from a job they're already in and love, or find engineers who are unhappy with their current roles. It's a tough job.
The solution I'm working on:
So unlike the other approach of trying to get people to switch, the solution I'm trying to achieve here is to allow engineers to have a small foot in the door of several companies at a time (be on several company talent pools).
Right now there aren't enough engineers or companies in the platform to make it useful so my focus is really to get people to join. I'm also building parts of the platform as they become relevant and useful. The features I just finished are:
If this sounds like an interesting solution to software recruiting, you'd help me if you joined, created a profile and invited companies you've previously worked with to join.
Again, it's at https://development.kitchen
This could be useful to recruiters (get people in the funnel, as you need new candidates, just reach out).
My initial thoughts on this were that I would be competing with recruiters at recruitment agencies because my target audience are the same that they would be going for. But I've actually changed the pricing model since and I think it would actually suit them as you say.
