"Submit Your Idea" Product Launch

Hello fellow indie hackers ๐Ÿ‘‹

I have currently a challenge going on which is called 24 Startups in 24 Months (inspired by the 12 Startups in 12 Months challenge). You can read the detailed introduction post here.

I'm now at Startup #9 and I think it fits also perfectly here, since I just launched it.

So Startup #9 is the following:

You submit via this form an idea which will have the chance to be selected as the one Idea I will next build as a website in a month and you'll receive half of any future revenue. This Startup will be eternalized on the 24 Startups in 24 Months page. Describe your idea as detailed as possible via the "Idea Description" input and submit $5 via a PayPal donation. Don't forget to put the same Email in the PayPal note section as you entered here in the "Email" input so I can verify your submit. I will announce the winner with idea on my Twitter @ronatory on January 1st 2023 8PM (GMT+1) and message you via the Email you provided here. If I don't get a response in 24h after I contacted you, I will choose one of the other ideas.

Even if you don't have an idea to submit, please spread the word for others who want to take this opportunity and share this link here: https://bit.ly/submit-your-idea-24s24m or via Twitter just repost this Tweet.

Submission closing date will be December 31st 8:00 PM (GMT+1).

A detailed blogpost about it can be found here https://www.24startups24months.com/posts/9-startup-submit-your-idea

If you should have any questions or feedback, let me know in the comments below. Have an awesome day and keep launching ๐Ÿš€ Looking forward to collaborate with you. Cheers!

Thank you also for the motivating words. Also here I'm asking for help regarding just spreading the word via sharing the link https://bit.ly/submit-your-idea-24s24m and also via Twitter just reposting this Tweet to reach those who are really want to submit an idea. Will add this also to the form and the post here on IH

Thanks so so much for following the journey ๐Ÿ™ The post is still pretty new. Another challenge is to spread the word of it and reach those who would like to take this opportunity and submit an idea. If you would like to support the idea, you could spread the word and just share this link https://bit.ly/submit-your-idea-24s24m or via Twitter just repost this Tweet. I'm really motivated to do it, but without anyone submitting an idea this won't happen :D Will add this part regarding sharing to the form and posts here on IH

Sure, Let me spread first, and later I do share an Idea (maybe stupid.. haha) cooking in my mind for past few months for the real life problem I'm facing.

It's an interesting concept but seems like a legal landmine to me. I know the old adage of "an idea is only as good as its execution" but what guarantees do you give the folks submitting that you're going to follow through on the 50-50 split? I read the whole form and you don't give any specifics about - what I'd consider - the most important detail people would need before submitting.

      Hello Steven,

first of all thank you for your time reading the whole form and for your feedback. Awesome questions! It's true that I don't give any specifics about it currently.

What I wanted to do is when integrating Stripe for payment to invite the idea giver to the account so that she or he can have evidence for any payments. And as soon, as there will be payouts the giver will get half of the revenue. Thats currently the plan. So this way I could be held publicly accountable if I wouldn't send half of the revenue. And I would loose all trust for any future ideas/projects since the links and accounts of mine I shared (24 Startups 24 Months or my Twitter are real accounts or even my full name in the PayPal Donation Link can be used to do something against me)

You could also screenshot this comment here :)

Would that be enough if I add the part with the Stripe Account invite for more clarification regarding this part? I'm also open to sign any simple contract or message in email with my signing as soon as we start with the project, but the priority is first execute the idea and see if it brings value.

      Really appreciate your feedback

I absolutely do think adding those details to the form would be hugely beneficial to showing you're serious and getting folks to buy into the idea. Preferably with some of it also added to the TL;DR section too to capture their attention more quickly.

Unfortunately, but probably not unsurprisingly, people are going to scan for "what's in it for me" and I think this hits on that aspect.

Thanks. I've added a new paragraph to the TL;DR and also to the detailed description to clarify this part. Open for any further feedback for improving the form
