I recently finished a project (still updating it) www.journful.com it's simply a personal journal.
I'm now trying to start a project that I can make some money from. I've started a Trello board filled with ideas that I think I might like working on. I've spent my last couple of days trying to think of what I'll work on with no success.
Any tips on how I can brainstorm/decide what I will build?
What helps me is PH and this community - browsing products and idea discussions. You can pick up various ways people are trying to solve problems, different angles they use to do that. Sometime this can lead to you applying the same idea to your niche, industry, domain. Or you can combine several ideas into a new one.
This is a problem I have tried to address with my new project - https://www.highjackar.com . I have wasted significant time on developing ideas that turned out to be unprofitable. I think it is key to start validating your ideas and engaging with potential customers at the earliest opportunity.
Highjackar aims to spot trends and identify the online communities where they are discussed. It is very much an MVP but it might be a useful exercise to cross reference your trello board with some of the trends on Highjackar. Maybe find inspiration for some new ideas too! Let me know if it helps at all!
Great question. I have your same problem. I like Paul Graham essays on how to get start up ideas (google it), but keep in mind he is very ambitious (aims for $ 1B+ ideas). Also I read this long time ago, I remember I liked it:

Also there are some great posts by CS Allen here at IH about the idea selection.
Let me know if you have any advice as I keep thinking and thinking and still got nothing good (or so I believe).
